Changes after majority weight loss

Recommended Posts

If you guys look at my first post I am new to this community and beginning my journey. I am 5'6" 336lbs. I'm going for a bypass. I know there is going to be loose extra skin from my real life fat suit. How do you feel about it? Are you embarrassed? Proud because it shows your commitment? How do you deal with it on a daily basis for cleanliness? What about intimacy with your partner?

I am very self conscious as it is and I've seen people with loose skin and I didn't know why and I thought it looked creepy. So I know people who don't know my think that of me and it bothers me some.

People are people...they're gonna think weird crap about everything.

As the song goes....you can't please everyone, so you gotta please yourself.

My loose skin is goofy. Yep, I look a little like melted cheese. LOL

But I look dang good in clothes these days, and even a bathing suit...so that's pretty cool:)

My hubby is all about thinner me...then again...he was all about fatter me, too...so that hasn't changed much.

In new relationships, I can see where it could be awkward, but people are pretty understand really. Everyone has something, you know?

Cleanliness is no issue. Just shower.

And ultimately, if it bothers you....there's skin surgery somewhere down the road if you want it.

It's kind of a nonissue for me. Others might feel different.

It's already showing up and I'm not crazy about it, but we'll see if it sticks around. If it doesn't, I'll probably look into plastic surgery. I'd like to be able to wear tighter clothes and having a giant-ass pouch around my belly won't help the look.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
