Krista27 341 Posted February 23, 2018 How many people are now running since wls? I currently am walking but really would like to work up to running. Programs are plans you suggest that will take you from walking to running. I would like to do a 5k at some point. Any tips at all would be appreciated. logicwand 269 Posted March 16, 2018 When I lost 50 lbs on my own from walking to running 10 years ago, it began with reading the pages of Jeff Galloway's "Running: Getting Started". At this time there were still bookstores. LOL I looked at every running book in the workout section at Borders and determined this was the best one - for ease of reading, instruction, and pictures! Haha. It was the best $19.99 I had spent in my life. It became my bible. I ran injury free for 2 years (until I quit on my own). His secret is "the run-walk-run method". He has several books, which probably all discuss the same idea. It also helped me understand how are bodies metabolize food, what's important to eat and what supplements to take. I plan on beginning my walk-run exercise plan in a few weeks when I'm several pounds lighter. I still have this book by side to coach me. Why is running so fun?! LOL Good luck!!
