Creekimp13 5,840 Posted February 20, 2018 I was approved to stay two nights if that was my preference, but I hate being in the hospital. I made it out in just under 24 hours:) 1 logicwand reacted to this

orionburn 1,024 Posted February 20, 2018 Scheduled for 2 nights but ended up being 5 or nights due to complications. By the last day I was about to climb out the window to escape. Loved the staff but after nearly a week there I had my fill. 2 Apple203 and logicwand reacted to this
sillykitty 10,776 Posted February 20, 2018 One night. If the morning staff had been efficient, it could have been less than 24 hrs. The only positive for being at the hospital vs. home is better drugs. 2 Apple203 and logicwand reacted to this
elforman 234 Posted February 20, 2018 Doctor told me when I have my sleeve (late May-ish) it will be done outpatient as a surgical center adjacent to the hospital. If something goes wrong they'll take me to the hospital and admit me so I should have an overnight bag prepared, just in case. 1 Apple203 reacted to this

Newme17 3,444 Posted February 20, 2018 Could have left by the next day, but opted for two nights, for extra care and some alone time before heading back to my kiddos. 2 logicwand and Apple203 reacted to this

Bones, tendons, ligments, fascia. Dang it hurt at home, and no intravenous drugs to help out! Good luck! 2 logicwand and elforman reacted to this
etc. etc. etc. 440 Posted February 20, 2018 I was in by 10 am one day and home by 5:30 pm the next. My stay was a bit like sillykitty's in that it could have been shorter but for hospital foot dragging. 3 Apple203, Acts238girl and logicwand reacted to this

I expect my wife will have a nice stash of strong stuff if I need to borrow any since she'll be having her knee replaced a few weeks before I have my sleeve done. Now I finally know why we had kids: To take care of us in our middle age... 2 1 Apple203, logicwand and Acts238girl reacted to this
Losebig 508 Posted February 20, 2018 I was in 2 nights, home for a bit over 12 hours and back for another 4 nights due to a complication. The looks I got coming back onto the floor were priceless 1 logicwand reacted to this

This is a great way to get a leak. Your doc will prescribe meds your stomach can tolerate if you need any. Never use unprescribed meds with your new stomach. Remember no more NSAIDS!! Don't worry, I'm not crazy enough to take anyone else's prescription for anything. Admittedly, since I'm still about three months away from my surgery date, I've got plenty of time to figure out which of my regular medications I'll be able to take and which I may have to get substitutes for. Although I do appreciate your specifically mentioning NSAIDs. I take Mobic (meloxicam) daily for arthritis so I'll certainly have to find something else I can tolerate before then to make sure I can continue using my arms without pain. 1 logicwand reacted to this
