Obese to Overweight

Recommended Posts

I’m super excited to share that I just crossed over from obese to overweight this morning. Weight loss goal 1 achieved. On to the next goal which is to hit normal range. I’m buying jeans in size 14 and tops in XL and I couldn’t be more pleased! I’m so happy, I just wanted to share. Also, for those of you in a stall, don’t worry. It eventually comes off. I stalled 2 1/2 weeks after surgery for almost 2 weeks (it was a real bummer).

Is 135 a realistic goal weight? I'm not trying to be snarky, but our stats are almost exactly the same! I didn't think that was possible?!

My doctor told me that at my starting weight 75% will achieve 170lbs. 50% will achieve 150lbs and 25% will achieve 130lbs. Since I’ve maintained just under 135lbs in the past, I’m using this as my final goal but believe me when I say I’ll be extremely happy anywhere in the 150lbs - 135lbs range.

That's how I feel too! 150? GREAT!! I almost think 135 would look emaciated on me, but if that is what my body can do, I'm game! 😁

Go for it!! At 5'5", I weighed 125-135 through college, so it is certainly a healthy #.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
