DESSERT HUMMUS

Recommended Posts

Okay people do NOT knock it until you try it. This hummus is PERFECT for any sweet tooth. I was sleeved on 1/8/18 and am now starting to crave sweets again so I’ve been looking for something to fulfill that craving. I’ve tried sugar free ice creams and Water ice and everything tastes sugar free (If that makes sense). I have started to save my sugars for “sweets” so I’m not consuming too much. All day, I eat sugar free so when dessert comes, I can indulge in a little bit of this Brownie Batter hummus with 4 sugars and 3 Proteins per serving. Man am I loving it.

Do not let the word hummus fool you, there is nothing savory about this stuff. GIVE IT A SHOT if you need something sweet like I do!!

Funny. I am not really craving sugar, but this photo made me all ‘wanty’. (That is like needy but I try and stay in control!!)

I haven’t craved “sugar” necessarily either but whenever I need something sweet, this is my go to!

I eat Hummus but never saw this kind. Where did you find it? What do you use it on?

I saw it online and learned that they sell it a most walmarts next to all the other hummus. They come in 4 flavors but my local Walmart only has 2. I have put it on strawberries, apples, and pretzel crisps so far. Very tasty!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
