This is so unfair!!!!

This year I found the best Halloween costume and ordered it. It fits perfectly in every aspect, EXCEPT the freaking arms! The sleeves are too tight, and I don't know that I have time to have it altered. It is a gorgeous black, white and red Harlequin outfit of satin, and fits nicely throughout. So now I am thinking of bagging the whole dress-up plan, darn-it! AND I don't even have batwings to speak of, just arms bigger than the stupid perfect costume!!!

One thing I have looked so forward to since banding was dressing up every Halloween in something cool. I am NOT HAPPY!:car:

Chelle, do this. Unpick the seam that runs down the inside of the arm about three inches from the sleeve seam and continue the opening about three inches down the side seam. So what you have is an opening running from mid arm to your armpit then from your armpit to breast level.

Then cut an elongated diamond shape out of fabric of similar colour. It should be about one half an inch longer on each long end. Sew this into your armpit area with the points along the narrow middle of the diamond matching up with the sleeve seams at the armpit and the long points blending into each end of the open seam.

Does this make sense? It's hard to describe in words. I've fixed many a garment in this way. It's hidden and can give you more room across the back if you need it and in the upper sleeves.

Chelle,

You don't have to wear the arms "tight". You could easily alter this with a contrasting fabric. Just cut the seam and sew in the the piece, smaller at the top and flared at the bottom. Would be cute! They don't always measure these costume pieces true to size. Sometimes they just cut and sew! Don't give up on your idea!

This was the first year I ever dressed up and felt so good! I can imagine how you feel because although I lost 60lbs, I thought I wouldn't find anything and then I lucked out. I tryed plus sizes and they were just tobig and nothing I liked and the reg sizes ran small, so I just settled for the reg large and squeezed my but in it and it worked out perfect. Hope you get it to work out for you. By the way I am planning to dress up every year, it was so much fun.

Find someone to fix it, wear it! You'll have time, you just have to get going on it!

Yeah I think I have to. My company is so stressed and serious right now, that I need to bring some fun in!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
