Hair loss - when does it stop?!!!!!

Recommended Posts

That isn’t so bad. Glad for you. It really bothers me so I will get the extensions for the next few months. I was glad to see the baby hairs actually starting to come in but it will be months til they aren’t tiny.

It stopped for me at 10 months. But takes forever to come back.

Mine started at around 3 months and stopped around 6 or 7 months. I had hair to my butt and needed 4 elastics to hold it in a ponytail. I now need 1 elastic and can wrap it 3 times. I get about 90 g of protsim a day amd always take my vitamim and Biotin. Nothing helped. My surgeon said its just a natural process and will grow back. Now 11 momths out it is growing back, ive cut it halfway up my back so it doesnt look so long and thin. I also didnt dye it that whilevtime because i was worried it would harm it more. It will grow back eventually. Hang in there!!

When I saw my surgeon last week, he asked me "any questions?" So I said, "when does the Hair loss stop?" His response: "when your weight loss stabilizes." To which I responded, "Sh%#!" And then he said, "Only you notice it." I hope that's true! Oh well, guess I'll just deal with it...certainly not ready to stop losing yet.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
