VSG_Meow_Bitch 30 Posted February 17, 2018 Hello! I was curious about how long it took for the incision scars to fade? I am 2 months post op and my incisions are still very purple looking. Thanks!
Nessy76 134 Posted February 17, 2018 5 ish months here, mine haven't faded much, main incision is darker than the others. I don't really think of them much though, the weight loss has overshadowed any concern for the scars.
KimTriesRNY 1,853 Posted February 17, 2018 I’m not sure either. I bought some mederma to start putting on mine to see if it helps. I have heard it can take a year or so to see the actual end color of a scar. Curious if anyone else has used this stuff on their little incisions.
Sleeve1stFitNext 924 Posted February 17, 2018 Honestly, it depends on your body. Since I have a slight form of keloid skin, it will take over a year for mines to fade. However, palmers cocoa butter or Mederma will work with helping the scar fade. 2 logicwand and Acts238girl reacted to this
Acts238girl 73 Posted February 17, 2018 I still have the small laparoscopic scar from having my tubes tied! That was over 10 years ago. I think it has everything to do with skin type. You can also buy vitiman E oil, which helps for healing damaged skin. Sent from my SM-G935V using BariatricPal mobile app 1 logicwand reacted to this
BostonWLKC 807 Posted February 17, 2018 I’m using Mederma- and the little ones have faded but the main one is still purple too. Figure that’ll just take longer HW 242SW 236- December 20, 2017CW 196GW#1- 199GW#2- 1755’6”
Sosewsue61 3,185 Posted February 17, 2018 4 months out here and they are light red and the bruise near the main one (from removing the stomach) is still faintly there too. But heck I figure in a year the plastic surgery scars will be a bigger concern anyway. 1 logicwand reacted to this
James Marusek 5,244 Posted February 17, 2018 They will eventually disappear. I think mine were completely gone after a year or two.
