Any March 2018 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

There are several different types. It’s flavored water infused with Protein. I know that premier has premier clear, there’s protein2o and this is the one that I like the best. It has 20 grams of protein in 16 ounces. IMG_3225.JPG.70ac5603923dc90001fe52a1bb158b69.JPG

MyFitnessPal is excellent.

I do use MyFitnessPal currently but I’m looking for something with a timer to remind me about Vitamins etc

Baritastic is a very good app. Journal, track Water, Protein or meals, timer tracking weight and measurements etc

Thanks for the reminding me about the Baritastic app, I remember hearing about it in the support group I attended at the Center for Obesity. I am definitely gonna try it, because I am doing a terrible job of tracking my Fluid intake. I think I am getting enough but I am never finishing anything and I've got Water bottles, Protein water bottles, and Protein Shakes that I intend to finish at varying levels of fullness leftover in the fridge.

I have never been good at tracking but i feel it is absolutely necessary for success. I’m doing my best to track everything. I find this app very helpful.

I am doing 2 Premier Protein shakes a day (breakfast and afternoon snack), plus a half cup of Soup for lunch and another for dinner.

Hi all,

I've been reading for a while, but decided it was time to break down and make my own account... I was sleeved on 3-7. Overall, things are going well. I have had very little pain or gas, and I have been able to advance my diet better than I expected. The biggest issues for me have been two fold: 1- sweet food tastes terrible! I hate the Protein Shakes, sugar free products, pudding, Jello - all of it! It all tastes too sweet and like chemicals. I force myself to gag down a Protein Shake in the morning but that is really all I can do. I have been getting the rest of my Protein from pureed eggs, chicken, cottage cheese and tuna. Thank goodness those have gone down well. I met my protein goal for the first time yesterday, which is okay with my surgeon, who wants the first weeks' focus to be liquids. 2- I am so tired! I have read lots of posts and know that is normal, but it is killing me. I just want some stamina back!

6 days and counting until surgery.... It has been great being able to read everyone's post and hearing how things have been going for those that have recently had surgery. I am excited and nervous all at the same time. My anxiety sometimes gets to rule my nerves right now :)

Thank you to everyone who has been able to take the time with updating how things are going, it definitely helps those who have surgery dates coming up.

I'm getting my surgery on the 22 of March. I'm so excited after having to fight with my insurance company for 3 weeks & I thought it wasn't going to happen. I'm actually getting the sleeve after having the band for a few years & it was removed this past summer. The band didn't work at all for me. I'm nervous about the sleeve working, but I'm very excited to finally get it done. I'm struggling with the liquid diet. I'm hungry & I can't keep drinking these shakes! There's got to be something else I can have! Good luck with your surgery!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
