Any March 2018 Sleevers?

Recommended Posts

Not to bad. Bit of a rough night. Pain got pretty bad last night. Made me nauseated again. The hit me with double dose of pain meds and anti nausea med. then nurse made me up two ice packs. Those helped a lot. Got up a bit ago and got couple laps down the hall done. Waiting till 8am for Protein Shake. Then doc should be in to let me know if I’m getting out today. Had to have more blood work to see if my count is still off. So all is going as expected. One step at a time in this new journey .

Well I was released from the hospital today. Everything going as it should be I guess. I totally feel like crap right now. I know it will pass but right now I hurt like there is no tomorrow. Oxy not really helping. Can’t lay on my left side because my right side hurts so bad. Burns like crazy. Tried laying on my back with ice packs. Which worked in the hospital because you can adjust the beds. But at home no so much. Gotta rethink sleeping for next few nights. I know I’ll get through it but at this moment it is awful. The problem with the pain like that it makes me so nauseous.
Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Can you get your hands on some inexpensive extra pillows to imitate an elevating bed? Sorry you are so uncomfortable...:(

Yeah I have 2 extra so I will try to elevate myself. Hopefully it works. I have lymphedema in my left calf. So sleeping on my back is always a challenge. Hospital bed you can adjust the center of the bed as well. So I’m going to try elevating my upper body then put a pillow under the left knee. Fingers crossed that it works.
Lol!! If course belly looks like Pillsbury dough boy right now. Lots of swelling and major indents where the incisions are.

Look at how far you've come, then look at how far you need to go to make goal. Now do you think you could make it all the way there without your surgery? No and I couldn't either that's why I'll be following you before long. I heard there's a spot on the losers bench just your size, I know you'll want to claim it. And after Tuesday it's all yours. Now be a brave little soldier, march forward confidently into the future. And we will all be waiting to hear your story. God Bless

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
