Any March 2018 Sleevers?

3/14 surgery- not sure how much I’ve lost. My next pre-op appointment is on the 16th. I’m trying to only weigh every few weeks. I don’t want to have to think about stalls. I’m getting between 500-800 calories a day, Protein, Vitamins and most of my Water. If I’m not losing weight then it just isn’t in the cards for me. At this point I’ve going through extreme measures to be healthy and I don’t want to obsess about my weight anymore. I know I am and will continue to lose, period.

Oh wow! That is a lot of calories for 3 weeks out. My doctor expected us to not get any more than 500 in a day!

Actually that should have said 500-800. Most I’ve gotten is 748. Typically I’m in the 600s. Also I’m on soft/regular food.

I'm on soft and only able to take in ~400 a day, but I get my 60 g of Protein in with that. If I had to eat any more than I do I don't think I could do it.

I've been eating chicken, ground Turkey, shrimp, fish, etc. Honestly, I must puree the food in my mouth. As long as you chew it well enough, it has the same exact result as blending it.

OMG, just had 2 ounces of wild cod and it was so good! This is a good choice for folks who don't like fishy fish. Its chewy like lobster, mild, and filling....

I researched it and bought a little Kitchen Aid food processor, but I haven't used it -- I use my teeth like @madlily :D

I checked my journal and it looks like I’ve been consistently getting over 500 calories since 3/26. I hate Protein Drinks but do force myself to try to get in 1 each day. I use a whole cup of 2% milk (don’t like 1%) with the Unjury Protein Powder plus a bit of Peanut Butter powder. That’s about 250 calories alone. So it’s easy for me to get another 250 plus each day.

I do the Premier Protein shakes because they are genuinely the only ones I don't hate. They're only 160 calories for 30 g Protein. So if I don't feel like having real food, I can drink two and stay under 400, even with the addition of a string cheese. They say to eat 4 times a day, but I find I can barely drink a whole Protein Drink in one sitting, so I'll split one of them into 2 and that's how I get my 4 meals in a day.

I was doing premier but after surgery they did not taste the same. In a pinch I will drink one but I have to break it up over the day too. Eventually I will finish all the ones I have left over but it’s going to be slow. I’ll probably use them when I’m m running late to work or something.

I have strawberry, peach, banana and Cookies n cream. Sounds good and they were but I don’t like them now. Trying to get my husband to drink them :)

I have a ninja bullet that I used at first. Then I realized if I just chew really well I can purée it in my mouth :)

I started soft foods today! Stayed away from meat in puree stage cause that just sounded disgusting. But I had a little canned chicken mixed with guacamole for lunch and a small piece of mahi mahi for dinner! I've never been so satisfied in my life!

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

Am feeling this right now. My surgery date is 4/1. Sign the consent tomorrow. I feel like I overloaded myself with too much info, too many opinions. Got to the point where I was wondering if I should do this. Then I thought of my reasons for taking this step and that settled my nerves. Still get moments of doubt but am striving forward. Am just going to follow my book from the surgeon. Joined this because I was told by my dietician that I should do this for support
