Hi there. Good luck with the consult. I wrote down all my questions when I went to see my surgeon.

I’m working on my list. As I read through these forums and research I’m writing down everything.

I doing better now that I’m barely 3 months post op and have been going to the gym religiously. Had a few moments of WTF when the scale wasn’t moving but now that I’m in gym beast mode it’s coming off. Got a ways to go but I’m happy with how it’s going so far. How long did it take you to reach goal?

Hey. Glad to hear. I went down from 360 to 195 in 6 months. I had surgery May 29 and by November I lost all the weight. Gym is definitely necessary. Unfortunately I stopped for 5 months while I took care a few family situations and ended up gaining 25 lbs which have me upset but I know why. Now I’m getting back into that gym and since it’s warming up I can take my bicycle out.

WOW you lost a lot of weight very quickly! Sorry to hear you experienced family issues but it’s part of life and we have to roll with it. It definitely proves that the surgery isn’t some magic thing and that we still have to work at it. I hate when people think or say that it’s a cop out to just doing diet and exercising. If I could have done it without the surgery I would have. God knows how many times I’ve lost weight and just gained it all back. We still need to do our part. Hopefully the weather will change and you can get back into your exercise routine. I don’t know if I can take anymore of this snow ️ UGH!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
