Taz8680 5 Posted February 12, 2018 Just curious, I used to drink green smoothies before surgery. Should I be concerned about sugar content from the fruit?
UKHEIDI 22 Posted February 12, 2018 Hello! Most advice I’ve seen is to have a maximum of 10g of sugar per serving. Under 5g is preferable now there is some dispute about fruit sugars and whether fructose is under same guidelines as added sugar but in a smoothie most of Fiber been blitzed so maybe play on the safe side best
Biddy zz 🏳️🌈 1,004 Posted February 13, 2018 What is in a green smoothie? Mine are pretty much all green now because I sneak spinach in there, to keep my veggie intake up...

Should I be concerned about sugar content from the fruit? No. Whole fruit consumption promotes weight reduction. (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5084020/) So stick to smoothies (as opposed to, say, juicing) and having fruit as a snack, and you'll be just fine! 1 Savagegirl reacted to this
Savagegirl 97 Posted February 17, 2018 Yes, just use a lot of veggies but not too much fruit. I love green juices with just enough apple to sweeten it up. 1 Taz8680 reacted to this
