Macky. 12 Posted February 11, 2018 Hello, I’ve been on purée stage diet for about a week now and it was going so good! But now that I’ve gotten used to what I’ve been able to have it’s hard to switch it up and I’m getting bored with my food choices which has made me not want to eat at all. Any tips or ideas on how any of you got through the purée stage?
KimTriesRNY 1,853 Posted February 12, 2018 recipes. I used recipes. There are lots of recipes out there for purée stage when it comes to bariatric post surgery diet if you haven’t looked. I also spent time planning recipes for the next stage. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
NewBeginnings2018 81 Posted February 12, 2018 It was a long phase for sure - you kind of have to power through it. I ate a lot of refried Beans with a little bit of melted cheese. Sometimes I'd add a spoonful of guacamole too. 1 wendybird reacted to this
chycky 671 Posted February 12, 2018 It is hard and there are no other words for it. Mix up your Protein. I love the Unjury chicken broth about to have one now! Guac, hummus, cheese they are your puree friends. Hang in there! 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
JavaKnut 104 Posted February 13, 2018 I was told I could ingest anything I could throw in a blender - use your imagination. There was no food that was off limits - just the consistency was key...and keeping it low carb/low sugar too. I felt like it was a huge win to go out and get Soups, then bring them home and blend them in my vitamix. Flavor was great - and I could get something that was from someone else cooking. I never went so far as to blend a burger like my surgeon joked about.
wendybird 56 Posted February 13, 2018 I eat scrambled egg with tofu, refried Beans, Greek yogurt, hummus, and cottage cheese in a cycle of sorts. When I’m really bored I integrate cream of Soups from the full liquid stage. Only a few more days for me until I progress to “soft” foods. You can do it!!! LittleLizzieLilliput 919 Posted February 13, 2018 http://theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com/2007/08/pureed-foods.html The world according to Eggface is pretty much my bible. I linked you to the pureed foods stage.
XYZXYZXYZ1955 675 Posted February 13, 2018 I kind of hated the first month, but it's only a month. I threw a can of beef vegetable Soup in the blender and enjoyed that quite a bit--just happy to have something not sweet. I had about half a container of yogurt every day, too. I can't recall when I started with cottage cheese, but I've had it probably five days out of seven ever since--with some fruit, it's my standard lunch. It won't be long--hang in there! apositivelife4me 189 Posted February 24, 2018 Can I eat ice cream on my post op diet?
kakatlady612 1,053 Posted February 24, 2018 Honey I would bet not. It would be full of sugar and empty calories. If you have a RnY bypass- dollars to donuts you 'll have a dumping spell, with a sleeve- you might merely vomit. And if you manage not to, you're sliding back into the bad habits that made you fat in the first place. If I were there I'd waggle my finger at you, I'm 72, I can get away with it. If Johnnie Cochran could play the race card I'm not above playing the age card. Please take the word of an old fat broad, if you have any just sniff or barely lick the spoon, no big chunks!Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app 1 LindseyB2010 reacted to this
