So I’m about a month post op and on a regular high Protein, low carb diet. I manage to hit my 60g protein goal almost daily along with my 64oz of Fluid, but I eat the same things all the time: eggs, nuts, cheese, meats. Any ideas on small snack/meals that are high protein/low carb??? Also I am down 33 pounds...I thought it was good but now I feel the scale is moving slowly and it’s making me second guess my weight loss. I had surgery January 8th. TIA!

My favorite is the Johnsonville sausage beddar cheddar, high Protein low carbs. The Atkins meals, and bars are all really good to.

I know it can get a little boring....yogurt Water pee, shake water chicken pee water shake pee chicken repeat

I love lobster, I mix up ground sirloin or ground chicken with veggies, cheese and Tomato sauce

Pre-cooked chicken strips and chicken meatballs nice quick go-to as well.

Mussels another one you can mix in there or oysters if you like shellfish...Shrimp?

If you like to cook your meals, then you might want to check out the website: theworldaccordingtoeggface.blogspot.com

She has lots of bariatric friendly recipes. She is a former WLS patient. I tried the ricotta bake, pretty much a no carb, high Protein meal, it was delicious and quick and easy to make. I think I will try making the BBQ Beef Bites this week, virtually no carbs, packed with protein and easy to make.

Snacks: I do almonds, yogurt, cottage cheese with cut up cucumbers, Salted caramel/chocolate Atkins bar (high Fiber, very low carb, hardly any sugar, some protein)--very yummy for a snack or treat. Cut up veggies, I like to keep these in the fridge to snack on: baby carrots, red pepper strips, cucumbers.

If you want something crunchy and protein packed, but no carb, make some homemade cheese crisps. Just do a search for them, they are so easy. You can eat them plain, or dip them in hummus (yum), or a homemade plain yogurt based spinach dip.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
