Possibly end of February, latest March 7th. Hubby and I started this journey together. We have always based everything in our lives around everyone else. This journey is all about us. He had gastric bypass in December. After I might add he lost 43 lbs pre surgery. We started lifestyle changes at end of Aug 2017. He joined a program first. I followed first part of September. He is doing absolutely amazing. Weight loss after his surgery is moderate. Possibly because he lost so much before. Unsure at this point and it really does not matter. He has gone from a 44 waist pants to a loose 34. He is beyond happy. All his work is paying off. My incredibly shrinking man.
I am so absolutely happy to know I’m right behind him. Our new life begins!!!! BW 367 CW 320. Good luck everyone on this new beginning we have all chosen. Gonna be an amazing ride!!!!

Are you also going to be a bypss or a sleeved. I am about the same size as you starting out. maybe we'll be drag racing thru Weight loss? I'm 323 down from 355 on a tired & arthritic 5ft8in frame. Some days I feel as old as dirt but I'm,only 72. I'm kinda special ,well I guess we all are. I'm in a select group. There are War Babies born during WWII. Baby Boomers born 1946 until 1960s. Gen X Gen Y. Millenials.I am an Occupation Baby, we were born August 6th until December 31st 1945. We usually hang with the Baby Boomers because they're closest,in age to us.we've shared a lot of the same things. lastly because we're very nice people. I will have a RnY early-mid March myself at Mount Carmel in Columbus. I live 14 miles from the geographic center of Ohio and love all the new friends I've made on Bariatric Pal. Lets be friends okay?

My surgery date is Feb 19 & this Pre-op diet is really hard.

I didnt have to do a pre-op liquid diet. I was expecting it after hearing about it, but my surgeon doesnt do it. At least you have a boost start on the weight loss though!!

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
