Oochie 1 Posted February 8, 2018 I was sleeved on 1/29. i was o. A two week preop liquid diet and now on a 3 week liquid phase post op. The problem is since after the surgery I can hardly stomach the sweet Protein Shakes. Even the ones I used preop. And forget pure Protein, so sweet. One they make me gag! I have some unflavored Protein Powder, but not sure what to mix it with? I also tried mixing it with Soup in the microwave and it was a clumpy mess. Any ideas?? Hello Oochie,What I saw worked for me is that I would put the Protein Drink in a cup and mix it with equal parts unsweetened almond milk. I didn't do the unflavored Protein but maybe if it's powered you can put it in sugar free pudding, oatmeal or in watered down Gatoraded.Sent from my SM-G920T using BariatricPal mobile app 1 Oochie reacted to this
SassyScienceNerd 213 Posted February 8, 2018 I made some creamy based Soups with cauliflower, canned chicken, cheddar cheese, and broccoli and added Protein Powder and then popped it all in the blender. The blender takes care of the clumping, and it's pretty tasty. I add a little extra cream for fat, but I follow a Keto diet. You could omit the cream and still have a nice Protein packed, "sippable" Soup with less fat. Now that I'm not in pureed foods anymore, I don't blend the entire thing, just the cauli, cream, protein, and cheese, and I just add steamed broccoli and chicken. jmm16 11 Posted February 9, 2018 Unjury makes a chicken flavored Protein drink, like chicken broth, that seems to get food reviews. I haven't tried it. Personally I love beef consomme and beef Bone Broth both of which have a decent amount of protein. Good luck!
jaminator 262 Posted February 9, 2018 i use either sprouts brand or vega smoothie powder. Low sugar and not cloyingly sweet. Mix in the morning with cold brew coffee and skim milk and crushed ice in blender. Goes down easily.
