Pretty good I think. No complications, just some minor discomfort after eating the first few days. It's getting better every day. The Staples are driving me nuts. But if that's my biggest problem so far, I'll take it. Feels like I'm starting to get hungry, but it's a different feeling. More of a mental hungry without hunger pains. Following the diet exactly though.

That's great I'm doing pretty good too was really bloated the first couple days but released some gas today so that was pretty exciting [emoji6] I didn't have any staples they used glue on my incisions so I luckily don't have that discomfort. I understand what you are saying about mental hunger I'm on a week of liquid diet so missing the chewing of food part but otherwise think I'm doing good

Yeah the bloating and gas really takes some time to get used to. I eat with a baby spoon and I get up and walk around after a few bites, it helps.

March 19th...revision from lapband to RNY. Originally denied by insurance when I was given a surgery date February 12th. Fought an appeal and won!

Do you know why they denied you? (If you don't mind me asking) I am in the process of trying to get a revision from band to bypass. Thanks!

I'm doing good had some major bloating the first couple days but it has passed the last couple days. Water intake seems to be doing good not really having too much pain besides the gas. Walking is going good on a liquid diet until I see my Nut on Tue

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
