Shahad93 7 Posted February 6, 2018 Hi everyone! So I had my surgery on 1/31 and I’ve been slowly recovering since then. I haven’t felt much hunger the first 4 days (probably cause I was still dealing with a lot of nausea and pain)Currently, I’m incredibly hungry! I feel much better physically and less pain overall but this is also very stressful to deal with. I’ve been taking my liquids and Protein Shakes but I wanted to reach out and ask what helped you? 1 Lillymunster reacted to this
XYZXYZXYZ1955 675 Posted February 7, 2018 I have to admit that I didn't feel hunger at all for months after the surgery. I wasn't thrilled with the liquid diet and I was happier when real food came back into my life, but I still wasn't really hungry until quite recently. My best guess for your situation, though, is to have another Protein Shake or two and see if that helps. You definitely can't/shouldn't eat anything not in your plan. If it's allowed, though, try things like broth, sugar-free popsicles and fudgesicles, or herbal tea.
Brie828 6 Posted February 7, 2018 I think another solution would be to get up and out of the house! if you're sitting at home starving it's only going to magnify the situation. shake it up girl! You know you have to stick to your meal schedule so don't harp on what you can't change, again it will only magnify the issue mentally till its unbearable! Hang in there you can do this every minute that goes by your one step closer to a healthier you! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!!!!! Mind over matter or maybe in your case matter over mind lol 2 furrawree and ssalem reacted to this
Newme17 3,444 Posted February 8, 2018 I was hungry about 5 days out. Just stuck to my list and had a Protein Drink and drank lots of broth too. It happens. Nothing wrong with you either, have a drink. Now I wouldn’t go without doing all kinds of work to get your mind off your stomach needing food/liquid. That’ll result in some very low blood sugar and possibly a trip to the er. Be careful.
Cac93 10 Posted February 9, 2018 I was sleeved 12/15 and i got hungry all the time by day 3 or 4. What really helped my was doing thick Soups like creamy chicken Soup. Also cream of wheat really helped too. Once you get to real food again you will notice that type of always hunger go away. I thought the surgery like didnt work but i think its just the liquid diet and i had to do it for a month 1 Miami reacted to this
