It's fun to play at the YMCA!

Hubby and I went to the Y today. They had an "adult swim" for two hours this afternoon....free of screaming rugrats:)

Lotta old people and heavy people..and people recovering from injuries....floating around the 90 degree gorgeously huge, deep heated therapy pool.

We caught the last part of a Water aerobics class and swam for a couple hours. Was wonderful:)

Day passes were like...ten bucks. (and they had some kinda promotion that you can bring a guest....so hubby got in free!)

Definately worth checking out what your local YMCA offers. Even if you don't want to join....a day pass is an awesome way to give it a try!

And a nice warm swim is a fun way to beat the winter blahs.

Next week my bestie wants to go roller skating. LOL..... God help me.

My husband declared he would never move from our house, so I said I want an backyard pool. Score! I can't swim in public pools anymore now that I know how to test my own Water. Shiver. Ha! Everyone should have a backyard pool. ETA: just figuring out that I sound like an ass....

I will be extra careful, Shedo. I think if my bestie and I hang onto each other and don't get run over, we'll probably do ok. Mostly, I imagine we'll laugh like nutters and dangle off the edges of things. But I will watch my butt for sure.

I actually have been skating in the past decade when my daughter was a young teen...she used to drag me to the rink. I am NOT good. I'm not confident on skates and never will be. But I can teeter around in a slow circle fairly safely:) My bestie and I were really good at it when we were kids. She used to be able to do a backflip on skates...crazy woman. (have known this woman 40 years! met the first day of first grade)

I’ve been frequenting the Y myself. Been swimming & sitting in the hot tub just posted about how nice it is to be able to breathe a full breath again at just 16 days out!

Everyone should have a backyard pool.

A basic backyard pool is $AUD12000 ... unaffordable for most people.

A three-month pass to the local indoor swimming centre is $AUD123.

No general time limits (other than closing time).

I usually stay three to five hours per visit. That's better value than pool ownership.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
