I just had surgery on January 30th 2018

I also had surgery on 1/30. My nutritionist allowed me to have 1/2 Premier Protein shake beginning yesterday in morning and other half in evening. What a treat. Anxious for appointment tomorrow. Hopefully I can get tube out. Liquid coming out is almost clear. Still wearing patch for nausea.

Same surgery date. I had a drain. Having that thing taken out was the best thing that happened to me [emoji23][emoji23]. I'm on 4 oz of liquid an hour. Trying to get 64 oz in. How's everyone feeling?

Yay another 30th sleever! And you had a drain? You’re the first person I’ve come across who’s had one. And I took my patch off I don’t have anything holding me back aside from muscle soreness. And premier is great!

That’s great! I know how difficult it is to be a back sleeper and it sucks [emoji19] I was just curious because I feel like I’m ahead of a lot of sleevers ☹️ and I know everyone’s journey is different but idk maybe I’m just being silly

Yes he did but I have a patch on so I didn’t want do double up on nausea meds. once this patch expires and if I’m still nauseous I’ll take my nausea meds (:

Two nights ago I all of a sudden got nauseous. I have a patch on and still took a zofran. No issues since. Be sure your patch isn’t over 72 hours. If so change it out

I feel fine aside from the muscle pain but other than that I feel like I could take on the world. Any other sleevers able to sleep on their sides or stomach?

Hood Morning I did lastnite and I actually slept better then the other nites I’m still just a lil sore around the large incision but I’m taking regular Tylenol now and it helped with the soreness... I aswell am having a hard time with the Protein but I’m not gonna lie I boiled broccoli lastnite with some chicken seasoning added a lil butter and mushed it up like mashed potatoes and it was great I got 3 oz down

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
