Started at 304 got down to 283 before sleeve on 8 August. Lost fast a beginning around 30 pounds first month, then it slowed down, nearly 6 months later I have lost 75 pounds. Now 229 and losing on average 2 pounds a week. Sometimes the scales don’t move but the tape measure does, I have gone down more that 5 dress sizes. I used to dread stalls, drove me mad in the beginning now I just follow the pattern and wait for it to pass. Its years since I have been so happy within myself. I feel normal, wear wonderful clothes and am so much healthier.

I want to lose more, and stick religiously to Proteins and very few carbs, I struggle with Water and never quite make it. However, if I didn’t lose another pound I would still be so much happier than this time last year.

I'm 6 months out today! My highest weight was 357. On the day of surgery it was 317. Today it's 227. At surgery I wore a size 26-28; today it's 18-20.

AND everyone is different!!

Wow, great job! We're close to the same starting/surgery weights (you beat me by a few pounds) though different starting dates. But I'm losing very slowly now...I'd like to mirror your success but I'm trying to stay realistic for me. :)

I wore 28 pants now I'm down to 24. I'm hoping I can fit into non-lane bryant size 24 pants (haven't tried yet) because I'm not having luck at goodwill/thrift stores and don't want to spend $60+ for trousers if I'm going to keep getting smaller! (for work-not a dress/skirts person) :) Tops are easier to find for less!

Have you tried Walmart? I found that to be a good place to find jeans under $30 that were great for transitions. My weight loss has been steady, but I know that it will slow down soon!

Hello,

I started my journey at my heaviest weight 338.5 . After meeting with the nutritionist the first time she gave me restrictions no fried food, sugar, soda, no caffeine, and only whole grain complex carbs. I followed all her instructions because I was going to take control of my life. When I went back in a month I was at 329.5 . I followed this plan all the way to my pre op diet although I didn't monitor my weight. The day of my surgery ,January 23, I hopped on the scale and weighed in at 317.2 . Today I went to see my primary doctor for a two week follow up. When I hopped on the scale it read 307. I was so excited 31.5 lbs gone in the blink of an eye.

I am 6 feet tall. I was sleeved on July 14, 2017. I weighed 280 on the day I was sleeved. I am currently at 183. I have been at this weight for a few weeks. My goal weight was 185, so I am very happy with the weight loss. I eat around 1000-1200 calories per day. I have never felt better. I work out 6 days per week, 2 of those with a trainer. I really can't believe what has happened. I went from a 42 waist to a 33 waist pants and XXL shirts to L shirts. I am very grateful for this sleeve.

I realize I'm a guy, so it's different, but... my solution on jeans has been to buy the ones from Lee that have a bit of stretch to them. They tend to have them at Kohl's for buy one get one half off. I bought 40W (which fit) and 38W (that were doable, because of the stretching.) I alternated between those until the 40's didn't fit anymore, then bought 36's and alternated between those and the 38's. The 38's have gotten kinda loose, so I'm heading back this week to buy the 34's. I miiiiiiiight get down to 32 eventually, but it's hard to imagine going past that, so I must be close to done getting new pants.

The really weird part was that after years of wearing bagging boxers, I had to go get smaller-sized boxer briefs because once my pants weren't baggy anymore my, uh, business didn't sit correctly/comfortably.

Stats are to the left. 10 lbs of my weight loss was the pre-op diet.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
