Wanting a chewy chocolate protein bar

Recommended Posts

Im 12 days post op and craving a chocolate protien bar. 160 calories 3 grams sugar, 20 grams Protein. Does anyone know if this is safe or not. Im soooo tired of the premier shakes. Im going to puree in another day, but i tried scrambled eggs with cheese, it went down nicely. I also tried taco refried pinto Beans and cheese it wasnt as smooth as I thought but I didnt gag...I cramped a little not much. Any suggestions about some puree/soft foods....I NEED FOOD....Hunger pains hit, but cravings hit even harder.

SUPER BOWL TIME............I want some hit wongs ;)

Your stomach takes awhile to heal. I suspect that at 12 days post-op, Protein Bars are way too soon. It wasn't until the 3rd or 4th month that my nutritionist recommended them. I recommend you discuss this with your surgeons office or nutritionist. When you reach that stage, I would recommend Quest Protein bars. These bars were good in that they had high protein, minimal sugar and also contained Fiber. They also came in a lot of different flavors. The fiber is important because it helps with Constipation that can become a problem towards the end of your weight loss phase.

At 12 days out my plan allowed me to have low-fat cottage cheese, yogurt, unsweetened applesauce, low sugar oatmeal, low fat string cheese or Babybel cheese, tuna salad, and chili. Surely one of these foods will satisfy your food craving.

When I was still doing pureed I would make a chicken bake - canned chicken all mushed up, then mix in some ranch dressing, franks hot sauce and cheese. Bake it in muffin tins. That totally hit the spot when I was craving something savory/spicy (like wings :) )
