Congrats! Water and vitamins! For me I was thirsty a lot but had problems with water intake! broth saved me it counted as my liquid intake as well as teas. I had a problem with Protein my body can’t tolerate the shakes so I opted for protein drinks instead of shakes. But always take your Vitamins and protonix if you get those when you’re sent home

Congrats and best wishes on your upcoming surgery! I'm one week out and a sippy cup might work, but I've also found that a tervis-type lid that slides open only so much has really helped me sip sip sip. When I have a bottle of Water, it's too easy to take a bigger glug.
