I had one after my surgery from the catheter. About two weeks later I had another UTI, this was when I was having difficulties with Fluid intake. Since then I haven’t had anymore.

Stay well hydrated (this has a flushing effect) and always wipe front to back (sorry to be crude).x

A little more FYI crucify? I draught all my children girl and 2 bous to wipdone that way. Freaked my late husband out when he happened to observe oNE of our sons. I didn't think anything about it, shoot if he wanted to,be in charge of bathroom habits he should have stayed home instead of working 12 and even 15 hour shifts at his office. Second reason if he had the ITIs I've had in my lifetime he truly, would have understood. We, as God's ultimate model with 3 not 2 openings were blessed with a very short urethra so bacteria have an easy march up to the bladder. Hello pain and suffering!

I have at least 2-3 UTI's yearly. Usually it is from the diarrhea I experience when I eat something I should not. There will be times it will hit you and you don't always make it to the bathroom, hence the bacteria gets up inside you and causes a UTI. Sorry - kind of graphic - but true. It has happened to me more times than I can count!

I hardly ever got UTI's, but since I had surgery 11/21/2017 I have had 2 kidney stones that caused UTI's. I was told the kidney stones are from the increased Protein we eat. I know it's not a lack of hydration for me. I consume about 100 oz of fluids a day.

Keep on with the excellent hydration, it helps in the long run. Do they know which variety of stones they were? Sometimes you have to modify your diet further or go on some medication. I'm on a bladder antispasmodic and will be until I see my urologist in March. Just a little blip but I'm getting better.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
