Had a Gastric Bypass 03/27/2017 have lost almost 160 lbs. During month four and five got very sick and was told it was normal but it was not. I ended up going back in for surgery to have scar tissue removed at the point of small intestine and pouch. Now I am at month 10 and finding myself with the exact same symptoms and am afraid the scar tissue has come back again. Has anyone had similar experience. My Doctor is wonderful and I almost feel like a bother when I have to bring it up but was in the ER for 7 hours over the weekend with pain and nausea, Nausea more than anything,

YES I did. I was told that I ha Strictures. Basically scar tissue that was closing off the opening I couldn't even hold down Water. I had 5 Endoscoes wit 4 Dialtons. I had my RNY on July 2, 2013. I had my first endo Nov 2013, Dec 2013 and Jan of 2014 next one July 2014 and my last one was Jan 2015. It is great now but man o mighty it was so bad. I vomited all night and day. I even vomited my sleeping pills the next morning whole. They never went down. So your dr did open surgery? That surprises me you must have had a lot of scar tissue. I feel for you!! If my stomach feels a little weird it scares me and I always think the strictures are back. I'm very sorry that you are going thru this. For Sure!! Your weight loss is great!! But I know from experiences if you don't feel good it is hard to enjoy anything else. Please take care of you and I hope everything works out ok. Good Luck

Thank you so much. Yes,he is pretty thorough Dr. He did the endoscopy in office, then as I have brady cardia sent me to a cardiologist,to make sure that I could have another surgery. He did a full EGD and colonoscopy to see if there was anything they could see from the inside out. When all those studies came out okay,he said he was going to do exploratory to look from the outside in, I will never forget before I was put under he said "well we are going to see if we can find something or your just crazy and laughed" As soon as I woke up he had just came in to my room and told my husband he was safe,I was not crazy that scar tissue had formed around the outside of the bypass right below the connect and was not allowing me to digest the food as I should, two or 3 months everything was great and now it has started all over again. SO disheartened and I don't want to stop eating and lose hair again but get so sick when I eat anymore.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
