I'm so sorry to hear that. Can you make an emergency appointment with your surgeon or nutritionist? Personally, I've experienced a boost in energy post-op. Perhaps your fatigue is caused by not consuming enough calories. Also, I find that taking Vitamins before bed eliminates that crappy feeling. Feel better soon!

I would call your surgeon's office and talk to them. I was sleeved the day before you and have none of those issues. Everyone heals differently but you could be dehydrated if you aren't getting in your Water.

I'm so sorry you're going through this! I can't help much, but I know that my surgeon recommended taking Vitamins with a meal or snack to minimize nausea. Good luck :778_heartbeat:

Please call your surgeon. This is something important that should not wait.

I was sleeved on the ninth and do not regularly meet my Protein or my fluids daily. However what i do eat goes down fine and i have no Nausea. I am more tired because of the lack of calories but mostly feel pretty good. I would call your doc ASAP. And focus on fluids before food as dehydration is more dangerous than lack of protein at this point.

Make sure you are taking Vitamins with something in your stomach (even a Protein shake), that should fix the nausea. I’d definitely talk to the DR to see if they can help, if you’re short on protein and fluids you will be exhausted. Not sure if they did nutritional blood work pre surgery (they should have), but vitimin deficiency will also make you feel terrible - though its pretty quick for that if you had pre op labs. Not sure what the challenge with protein is, but watering it down may help you get it down and you can just sip that all day.

Warm fluids will be easier to drink and might help you get fluid goals. An IV with Fluid and electrolytes might make you feel like a new person and if you haven’t been hitting fluid goals you might need that.

I was short of being incapacitated because of extreme fatigue. Even though was doing at least 50gm of Protein and taking my Vitamin and B12. Even taking a shower felt like I had just ran a marathon, there was nothing wrong with me, the surgery just hit me this way. I never did have nausea though except the day after surgery. I’m now 6 weeks post op and I feel I get more energy every day. It took me almost 5 weeks to start feeling normal again.

I agree with the comments above! Although personally I couldn’t reach my Fluid intake in the beginning and was in fact dehydrated the first two weeks. I had to find ways to get liquid. I found them in drinking teas, broth, or slushy made style Water and flavor. As for Protein that was another problem for me as my tummy couldn’t and still can not tolerate Protein Shakes anymore since surgery! But I did find Protein Drinks like Isopure black tea or lemonade flavor and that has protein and counts as fluid intake. For vomiting I’d say the protonix helps with that, they sent me home with those out of surgery and I take it in the morning before anything!

However, definitely definitely let your surgeon know your concerns. I bother mines CONSTANTLY!

Hi everyone! I’m brand new here. I just went through all my pre-op requirements per my insurance company and now everything has been submitted and I’m just waiting for final approval and my surgery date. I’ve been doing research, watching YouTube videos, TikTok’s, ect.. trying to prepare my mind and what to expect so I’ll be ready for the surgery. I was so sure and so set and so ready and excited. However, now that I’ve done everything & it’s almost here, I am sooooooo scared! I know why I want it bc I’ve tried everything and I just don’t feel like I can lose weight by myself. I’m tired of being overweight my entire life. I’m miserable, but I keep psyching myself out afraid of GERD bc I know how that can be and I don’t want to have to get a bypass after already gaining the courage to even get VSG. I’m scared of complications like I’mgoing to regret doing it and be depressed that I didn’t just be more disciplined and try again to lose the weight on my own even sitting here typing this knowing in my mind i just can’t and don’t possess the discipline. I’m also afraid I won’t be able to handle the restrictions of the sleeve. What do I eat? I don’t know how to eat healthy really and don’t enjoy healthy food. I don’t know how to do this! I feel so defeated!Someone tell me they felt anything similar to this or am I not ready? I thought I was. I am so tired of being sick and tired and so tired of myself and so tired of being stuck and stuck in this body and somebody different on the outside from what I feel inside. I just want to ball up and cry.

The 14th was my day. I am home and recovery is going pretty smooth. They even let me walk out of the hospital. Picture of me in recovery curtesy of my boyfriend lol.
