Alright guys I am starting to get very bored of eating the same things all the time. I am really good at sitting down for my three meals but have been told I need to be eating more and making an effort to get those couple Snacks in for the added nutrients. What are some go to snacks and foods in general you guys like?

I wish I liked Jello. Texture makes me gag. Always has. eggs make me sick since surgery. So strange no matter how they are prepared. I can do egg beaters though. cheese is one of my main things I eat. I probably eat to much to be honest. I know I need to start eating more of a variety. I just get so anxious about choosing something that’ll make me sick but I know I need to venture out.

How about almonds, pistachios, nut mixes? Apples & Peanut Butter, Deli meat rolled with cheese, yogurt. There are also prepackaged Protein packs for on the go.

Thanks! Yes those are some good ones. I love Peanut Butter. I get an almond one that’s really good.

Somebody else said they mixed cottage cheese and a small spoonful of sugar free strawberry jelly or jam, made them think of strawberry cheesecake, come to think of it I have some sugar free blackberry from Smuckers, bet that might also be good. They may even make a blueberry and a red raspberry, I'm pretty sure of the red raspberry. Walmart even has house brand sf jelly, maybe I've given myself a good idea. Anybody hear the ding when the light lit in my head?

Almonds, cheese, homemade cheese crisps or parm crisps (easy recipe, just google it). You can do a homemade guacamole dip, homemade yogurt/spinach dip or homemade hummus to dip the cheese crisps in...yum! Also, keep cut up fresh veggies on hand such as baby carrots, snap peas, red peppers, cucumbers...great by themselves or in dips. Nice, fresh, crunchy Snacks that are good for you if you are already caught up on your Protein for the day. The cheese crisps, of course, have some protein. Also, greek, lower carb-low sugar yogurt. Plain yogurt with stevia, throw in some almonds or a few blueberries..delicious! I second the deviled eggs.

Some good suggestions from others here.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
