JazmaniaRNY 80 Posted January 30, 2018 Oh my just weighed myself today. I have gained 4 pounds can’t seem to get them off I do not know what to do. I am exercising and eating right. My surgery is February 7th. I am so worried that if I don’t lose the weight they will cancel my surgery. Any one ever had surgery cancelled? I am to start my period (sorry TMI) soon and I think that is why I am bloated, but will they understand that? Any advice?
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted January 30, 2018 Only way to know for sure is to call the office, but I would expect if you have a good history of compliance they'll be willing to work with you. Do you have any presurgical liquid diet? liquid diets will reduce you in a hurry most of the time.

Have you been having more salt than usual? Did you gain those 4 lbs in a week prior to your period? Great job on exercising and eating right! Sending lots of love to you! My surgery wasn't approved unless I met the goal weight. My period started about two days before my surgery and I gained a little, (They still did a pregnancy test the morning of...) but I was still under my goal weight. They didn't weigh me the morning before the surgery. I had a pre surgical visit the week before where I was weighed and I believe I had gained 3 lbs. There is generally always a difference between the scales and time of day. It's a odd/stressful time before the surgery. There were so many times where I would imagine a reason why they might cancel the surgery, and it was all in my head. Try to relax-- breathing exercises, find positive mantras, remind yourself why you're doing this... :-) 1 Creekimp13 reacted to this

However, I’m considering starting sooner rather than later in hopes of getting down the weight.

Great job on exercising and eating right! Sending lots of love to you!I typically always gain before my period and yes it comes about 3-4 days before it happens. No I have not had anymore salt than usual. If at all decreased salt intake this week. Thank you, it is a change that my family made with me so I am thankful for them because it would have been impossible to do with our prior eating habits. My kiddo is still adjusting to not being able to snack on everything and drinking lots of water.
