Good luck!!! You got this. Crying releases endorphins (the feel good, mood lifting hormone)--so all's good. You're normal, ya weirdo! ;)

When I start to feel fear or anxiety:unsure: about which is often accompanied by tears,:57_cry: it tells me that whatever I'm doing or about to do means a lot to me. so if your feeling that way about surgery this is a good thing (in my book) that means this new journey is something you're taking seriously. Hang in there and in times of true Emotional doubt hang onto your Logic, this is a safe procedure with amazing results and unless everyone who has ever received bariatric surgery is lying to us, we have a bright, healthy new life waiting for us just around the corner. All my best

Hi from the post op world.

There is definitely some gas pain., and a lot of nausea with me. However, all in all the nurses told me I’m recovering quite well and quickly. They kept telling me to rest but I wanted to walk for the pain and it help.

I’ve been vomiting a tiny amount of blood which they also mentioned is very normal too.

I feel much better now than yesterday. No vomiting so far and the walking has been easing the ache a lot.

I feel thankful and blessed. Hope everything goes smoothly with all of you!

Excited, I was quite nervous last week but somehow I feel good after crying literally every night lol.
Not sure if I should be concerned with this euphoria but I’m also glad.

Best of luck! Everything will be fine!

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
