Trouble getting up in the morning

Recommended Posts

Before surgery I was a lark owl (idk if that's a thing but I was just as happy to wake up early as I was staying up late.) Now that morning aspect is beyond gone. I struggle to get up and usually feel sick. Today I called in because I was sure I was going to pass out. I've been up for 2 hours and I'm starting to feel a little better.

Anyone else go through this? Do I just have to drag my feet through mornings now? I don't see my doctor or get lab results until the 2nd week of Feb.

I have never been a morning person, but it is so much harder for me to get up in the mornings now versus prior to my surgery. And i also feel a little sick as well. After i get up, take a shower and move around i start to feel better. There have been many times i have just wanted to call in.

Honestly, it took 2-3 months post op before I really felt fully human again. Stay hydrated, get plenty of sleep, it will get better.

Yup! I always got up at 5 or earlier and now I have to drag myself out of the bed at 6:30 when my daughter gets up. The struggle is real!

Prior to my surgery, all the post-op patients in my support group talked about how they immediately had so much energy. Yeah. I got none of that. [emoji849] I nap almost every day after work and sleep 12-16 hours on my days off.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
