No, I don't think you think so.

But...thanks?

Etc., must be tedious trying to explain humor. I rarely try to do it.

If something is funny, people will react with laughter.

Perhaps you need to hire a new writing staff?

My brother in law is six months out and doesn’t fallow a super strict diet. It is his success that has made me decide that the sleeve would be a good option for me too. He eats his Proteins first, gets his liquid in, but allows himself a treat now and again too. He said it’s better to allow himself half a cookie, then wait until he feels like his craving is so bad, he ends up eating three. I think that is smart, although some would not agree with me.

Again, it's a noisy post title, but if you read what Raffi is eating, it's 600-800 calories per day, Protein first, shakes for Breakfast, some light snacking on nuts and Jerky, a few bites of something more normal for dinner, and steady exercise.

It's not like he's eating cheeseburgers and cake here, people.

Even if he was, he is less than 3 months out. Everyone will lose weight during the honeymoon phase. He's just missing out on the easiest time to make changes in food relationships and habits. It happens over and over on this forum. He'll fade away when the loss stops and it becomes real work. They all do.

Even if this is true, should people on this board be required to decipher the hidden message among the barrage of macho "I do what I want" talking points? <_<

Myself and others that I know in the area have all been told no alcohol for a year. The reason not being completely on the intolerance, but more on the higher likelihood of alcoholism and addiction since it takes so little to get the buzz.

Take a look at how and when you are eating. If you are grazing on stuff throughout the day, then that could be why you are only tolerating small amounts of non 'real-food.'

I was told to eat at least 2-3 hours apart. No liquids 30 mins before or 30 mins after.

To each their own. I hope you don't get any major complications from your current path.

I was told no alcohol for 6 months

We are all adults we pick and choose what to read and respond to.

If your post was humor...The funny thing is posts eating off plan are posted over and over. Nothing new here.

Ever notice the people that love to spin people up and many people take the bate and get emotional......Uggghhh Gets old.

Anyhow...@Raffi Ask around about lipstick lady...sarcasm and humor get lost in here.

Gotta admit I do so love doing that.

Listen, let me quash this. I'm a newb. Wanted to see what kind of feedback I'd get about how I'm doing this, and I did it in my usual style, which some might get, or like, or not. Don't care much about that aspect (although the bait-takers always make me smile inside...thanks LG). I have honestly heard the "honeymoon phase" argument and it's resonating with me HARD. Thanks to all who engaged genuinely.

Gonna have a small salad for lunch today and skip the grazing.

Baby steps.

Sorry Raffi. I'm all for humor and sarcasm, bawdy jokes, even offensive humor, and I'm known to be blunt on occasion. I just think there are too many people looking for ways to excuse bad behavior for me to see the humor in this post, which I feel could add fuel to the fire for some. I'm wishing you all the best, though, and hoping to get excellent results like you have as well! Take care.

Raffi wants "The Raffi Show"....which he thinks is funny, and fun, and relieves stress.

Some people agree...and think he's hysterical.

Other people think he's an offensive obnoxious ass.

I'm not even going to say which camp I fit into....because it doesn't matter. (I'm kinda torn, actually)

What matters is that Raffi has admitted he enjoys entertaining, "busting chops" and intends to use the board as his personal playground.

Again, different people feel different ways about this. Some people love a jester and enjoy some comic relief. Some people find having their "chops busted"...really offputting and tedious.

What I think we should be asking ourselves: Is the main forum primarily about entertainment or information?

I think most of us would agree that most folks are interested in exchanging information....though, in fairness, it's not that cut and dried. A lot of interpersonal communications go on, and of course there's humor and camaraderie.

But at the end of the day....what did the creator of the board envision as the primary focus?

Where do one person's rights (to use some off color humor and relieve stress) end.....and another person's rights (to engage in conversations about content without harassment) begin?

If we look at this forum....the creator of it left a pretty big clue.

If you read the descriptions of each main forum....the intent is pretty clear that the primary intended function is information exchange about each topic.

If you go over to the sub-section of the main forum called The Lounge....it says:

"This forum is for general conversation, sharing interests, having a laugh or discussing anything not specifically related to Weight Loss Surgery surgery."

So, there we go....our forum's creator even thought about entertainment and blowing steam and busting chops...and made a place for it!

So there ya go Raffi....a place where you're welcome to hold court, rile people up, and do whatever you want:)

https://www.bariatricpal.com/forum/444-the-lounge/

Having the Raffi show move to The Lounge also provides a way for people to avoid The Raffi Show if it's not their cup of tea.

This solution seems to protect the rights of all parties involved. The Raffi Fans, the Raffi Detractors, and Raffi himself. Everyone gets consideration this way.

All this said...I'm no authority....but this seems an equitable situation that respects everyone.

Other people think he's an offensive obnoxious ass.

Other people think you are an obnoxious know-it-all with seemingly too much time on their hands.

I won’t tell you what camp I’m in, it doesn’t matter really.

The information he shared is just as valid as anything you have repeated ad nauseam. Get it, nausea? It’s a bariatric joke, now that’s funny.

So, Raffi inspires a departure from common courtesy and treating each other with respect in spite of our different perspectives.

So...a free for all...basically....where people feel free to insult each other.

This is funny, eh?

I don't particularly think it is.

I think it will result in the following outcomes for bariatricpal.

1. Slowed traffic to this site.

2. Reduced sales of products.

3. Poor reputation.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.
