I emailed the planet hosiptal which was on an old site though google. anyway they phoned me today "amy" and said he no longer does surgery there and not to go with him. That this is not us certified. does anyone know anything about this, its really upsetting. is this just sour grapes, and a recruiter? any info would be very much appreciated. donna Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Pacific526 0 Posted October 26, 2007 I had surgery wth Dr. Ortiz in Tijuana- just type his name on google and the website is there. He is highly recommended and has a lot of experience. He did 900 lap bands last yr alone. I do think there are reps from USA doctors who monitor these blogs and try and scare people away from Mexico. Check out Dr. Ortiz. I was pleased with the surgery. However, you might want to seriously consider using a surgeon within the United States. The surgeon I used was Trace Curry from Cincinnati, Ohio and he is outstanding. ChubbyChic 0 Posted October 26, 2007 The reason I state you might want to go to a U.S. Surgeon is I found out I had a hiatal hernia AFTER my lap band. I was fortunate enough that my surgeon repaired the hernia. It is my understanding some surgeons will not repair the hernia while placing the band and this can cause slippage and erosion.
