Friends,

jan 2 was my surgery date and two days ago I noticed that when I stretch or stand up completely straight it feels like I’m pulling something on the left lower abdomin by my belly button where I have my largest incision. My induction looks healed . The best way to describe it, is that it feels like a sore muscle.

I have had some Nausea lately but no fever and no pain anywhere else.

Thought?

I think it's just your abdominal muscle healing. When you stretch...it stretches the muscle...and that can break down a little of the scar tissue. It's normal and will be ok:)

I wouldn't worry unless it gets gets considerably worse, you get new bulges, or you have other symptoms. A little pain at a new incision as it heals is very common...particularly when you start to feel good enough to stretch a little:)

Thank you so much! I was just worried that maybe I had a leak but without the symptoms

I have had something like this occur three times - I just took it very gently the next couple of days til it settled. I asked my surgeon last week - he said just what @Creekimp13 did - either the scar tissue, or possibly a small fibre of repairing muscle has sprung apart. It settles. If there is a bulge at the site, it is a hernia through a muscle gap, watch for that.

Rest, no heavy lifting (or housework of any sort, I keep saying at home!!)

Otherwise, all going ok?

The largest incision point is the longest to heal. I am 5 years post-op. I think it took about a year or two before I could no longer feel it.

I've had the same with this surgery as well as with another large scar. It can be quite painful if you really stretch it, but it's just scar tissue. I talked to my surgeon about it at my last checkup as well

Same deal for me. I felt an almost constant deep ‘pulling’ type of pain at my largest incision for about 3.5 weeks. Wearing a binder helped decrease the intensity of the pain. My surgeon told me not to worry about it. A post-op nurse/friend told me to be careful with my movements to prevent a hernia.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
