firefighter3158 52 Posted August 29, 2018 I am doing great. Yes I am post op. I had RNY on April 5, 2012
Mitzimom 31 Posted August 29, 2018 Wow! I too am having RNY. I’m with Novant Bariatric. Did you have any complications or do you have any words of advice for me?
firefighter3158 52 Posted August 29, 2018 No I had no complications from the surgery. Lost a total of 182 lbs and I currently weight 210. The only issue I have since surgery is that I am hypoglycemic. All medical issues I had, are gone so the surgery basically saved my life. I will say to you this....never give up! You will have good times and bad, but always remember your goal and keep fighting to reach that goal. The surgery is only a tool and the weight loss is dependent on how you use that tool. I am happy for you and your new journey. You can message me any time if you have questions, get discouraged or if you just need to talk. 1 MargoCL reacted to this

Mitzimom 31 Posted August 29, 2018 Thank you so much. I am not really worried about the surgery itself, I mean, if something is going to happen it will whether I worry or not. I am more worried about screwing up post op. I have never really exercised. I was always the kid who was made fun of and had ulcers just because of gym class. Then now I have sciatica and can barely do chores. Hopefully that will go away with wls help. I also have sleep apnea (runs in family too), type 2 diabetes, HBP, pitting edema in my legs. I was told by an old dr at one time I wouldn’t live to be 40. I’m 41.
