ruthkilbo 10 Posted January 27, 2018 I’m 12 months post gastric bypass and am now at target weight. I exercise loads so am eating around 2000 calories a day to maintain weight. I tend to eat lots in the evening as I’m hungry post exercise but am waking through the night around 3 hours after my last food with hot flushes which have been diagnosed as late dumping syndrome. I’m not eating high sugar so am confused as to why this is happening. Has anyone else experienced this and if so have you managed to solve it? Thanks
heatherjudson 62 Posted January 28, 2018 I get the hot flashes and sleepiness when I eat too many carbs or too much at once. I am particularly sensitive to bread. If I eliminate certain foods or eat in smaller batches it helps stave off dumping syndrome. 1 ruthkilbo reacted to this
soccerkaty 50 Posted January 28, 2018 Hi Ruth,I’m only a few days out but I might have had my first dumping syndrome from Water today so it for sure seems possible. Can you adjust the way you consume the calories to higher before exercise and then less after, hopefully still leaving you full. Good luck and congrats on being a year out. 2 ruthkilbo and em1 reacted to this
