Sugar Free Chocolate Jello

Recommended Posts

It depends on your surgeon and your plan, Peaches. Read the instructions you were given or give the office a call.

With my plan, I drank 5 Premier Protein shakes a day, and was allowed to have one serving of an item on a short list of things. sugar free pudding was one of them.

But that was it for the day. Shakes and one pudding.

Some people get shakes for two meals and a meal of veggies and Protein.

Some people just get shakes.

Depends on your program and your doctor.

I agree with Creekimp13

My pre-op was 3-4 Protein Shakes, one serving of lean Protein and two servings of veggies a day. No pudding allowed. I was allowed SF pudding after 4 days post-op, but honestly didn't want any until a few days after that. Long story short- it's different for everyone, and I think your doctor may even tweak things depending on how much you have to lose, the size of your liver before surgery, etc.

If you had it once during pre-op, it won't kill you... but try not to stray from the pre-op diet, whatever it may be. The easier it is for your surgeon to do what he has to do, the safer and better results you'll have. I'm so glad I didn't cheat!!! The peace of mind is way more worth it than any cheat day I would have had.

Is sugar free Jell-o pudding (not Jello jello) Permitted during the pre op liquid diet? It does have 60 calories.

It’s allowed for me. pudding, Jello, cottage cheese, Tomato Soup or cream Soup, and broth are the “foods” I can eat on the liquid diet. No sugar beverages, no carbonation, no caffeine.

Just been waiting until time for my consult with my bariatric surgeon. It's scheduled for Jan 9th. Turns out I won't actually be seeing him. Apparently it'll be with his P.A.             Not sure what to expect. I thought this is where the surgeon would discuss the best surgery option for me. For years I had my heart set on the sleeve, but I've read so many people have issues with reflux - even if they've never had it before - that they've had to be revised to the bypass. I already deal with GERD & take 40 mg of Omeprazole daily, so I started studying about bypass and honestly, it seems like it might be the better choice for me. How can we discuss surgery options if the surgeon is not there?
What happened at your first consult? Trying to get an idea of what to expect, or maybe I should say, what NOT to expect.

I would like to know what questions you wish you had asked prior to your duodenal switch surgery?
