NSV...Oh yeah!

Recommended Posts

So, i went shopping today for some new jeans at Lane Bryant and was pleasantly surprised. Before my surgery i brought a pair of size 28 jeans from there and today i fit into a size 24. 2 sizes down....not too shabby!

I was so excited...just had to share.

What does NSV mean?

Congrats though! I'm only down by about 18, but I'm looking in the back of my closet for some winter clothes from a few years ago when I was about 25 pound smaller. I found a beautiful almost new black blouse w/fall colors on it that is a 2x. I tried it on over my pjs and it almost fits! Two months ago the 3x things I have were getting snug... I hung the blouse on a hanger on my dresser as a goal to wear on Thanksgiving Day!

makes it all worthwhile!!

Thanks for all the support. it feels really good (for a change) to actually have to buy new clothes because old ones are too big. Looking forward to having to do it again soon. Thanks again for all the postive feedback!

Oh, congratulations topdownbug on your NSV. Good idea hanging your blouse where you can see. I have a pretty dress i bought a while back and i think i'll hang it up so i can be reminded to stay focused. Keep up the good work!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
