I had sleeve surgery on 01/05/17 and I haven’t lost any weight. I weight exactly the same thing as I did before the pre-surgery liquid diet. I am so frustrated! I even feel heavier. In addition, my face is breaking out which it never did even as a teenager. Also, I have had a severe headache for over a week. Please help! Is this normal? I called the doctor office and I always get the same answer...”it is normal”. I wish they had mentioned this problem before I had surgery.

It's understandable that you're frustrated. I felt frustrated with my weight loss post-surgery too. Although our situations differ, there are similarities:. I lost 8 lbs. week following surgery, then 0 pounds, then gained 1 pound. I was urged by a fellow member to write every bite down as if I'm consuming more than I think I am but I know how little I can get in. It was unbelievable how (still is) little I was eating with no results. I wasn't prepared for that...then, the following week I lost 9 lbs. So, it will start to come off. I had headaches every day for 3 weeks. Mine were not horrible but they hurt.

It's easy to get discouraged. The weight will come off. Hang in there. I'll bet weight loss is just around the corner. :206_cat:

So, you have had 54 or 55 weeks with no change and your clinic or surgeon is not helping you? Right?

Have you been keeping a paper food diary at home or say, a MyFitnessPal food & exercise diary online?

A careful tracking may help your surgeon or team assist you.

Just to note that the original poster said 01/05/17 in his/her post, but his/her info on the side says 01/05/18, which I suspect is the real date.

And for that poster, I'll tell you what my doctor told me originally--don't even think about your weight loss. Just concentrate on getting your Water, your Protein, your Vitamins, and your exercise. I thought that was a bit silly--after all, I had the surgery to lose weight--but I will say that I've had a number of quite long stalls along the way. But I've still lost 71 pounds so far. As someone pointed out, we didn't put the weight on at the rate of a pound every day, so don't expect to lose like that. It takes time and happens in fits and starts, but if you follow the plan, it WILL happen.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
