FluffyChix 17,418 Posted January 25, 2018 Go throw them in the trash and pour liquid dish soap on them. I'm not joking. You're 6 days post op... 2 BINABINA25 and angyplus5 reacted to this
Creekimp13 5,840 Posted January 25, 2018 (edited) At a week out, we were allowed to eat cream of wheat, oatmeal, yogurt and strained cream Soup. I have a feeling when you get to the next stage, you'll feel better. Hang in there! PS...if you cheat again...and you shouldn't! But if you do? Don't eat something bizarre like cheetos....eat something you're allowed to eat on the next phase of your diet. lc3 1 Posted January 25, 2018 You've got this! Don't let one slip up ruin everything. Put it behind you and move forward. Maybe try more Protein Shakes? I think the Protein will help you feel fuller. HW 273SW 247CW 233Sleeved 12/15/

Yougurt & Soups are filling. My surgery was last Thursday & it works for me. Your meals should be 2 to 4 ounces.
abefroman329 704 Posted January 26, 2018 Cream Soups are filling, oatmeal is filling, yogurt is filling...Cheetos are not. 1 Creekimp13 reacted to this
Losebig 508 Posted January 26, 2018 Hopefully you chewed it really well. You’ll probably be fine, but be careful and if its too tempted as mentioned toss it. I’ve tossed a few things out because its just too hard (hummus and nuts went in the trash at my house yesterday actually). I ate a couple cheese it crackers too early and also removed them. The purée and liquid stages are harder than soft foods IMHO. 1 Terri Larios reacted to this
XYZXYZXYZ1955 675 Posted January 26, 2018 I'm not going to kid around: the first month sucked pretty much the whole time. Even when I could barely get anything down, I hated being on liquids all the time and I especially hated how sweet so much stuff was (the shakes). But . . . two things: that month passes. And I lost a lot of weight during it. Weight loss has slowed and I can eat much better food now. I feel full pretty quickly but a few hours later . . . ready for more. You can do this. Drink the shakes, vary that with broth or sugar-free popsicles or fudgesicles, and move to cottage cheese and yogurt and Soups when you can. Don't rush it: your stomach needs to heal. It will all seem worth it eventually! 1 BINABINA25 reacted to this
EndlessGoals#2018 46 Posted January 26, 2018 Please don’t beat yourself up. It’s hard and I think it’s all mental more than anything. I’m 10 days post-op and in full liquids and at first found that I was wanting to eat certain foods but not because I was hungry but because I was used to it. I’m still trying to figure out what Hunger feels like Today I was making dinner for my family and making meatballs and they smelled delicious! I ended up taking a bite, chewed it really well, but right before swallowing, I thought about it and decided to spit it out. No one saw me but felt a little embarrassed bc I felt like those people that don’t eat and instead buy and eat all this food but don’t swallow and spit it out. It’s actually an eating disorder so I felt some kind of way about it. Wasn’t sure what bothered me most, that I was “cheating” on this full liquid phase before the dr clears me for puréed foods or that I enjoyed it so much and wanted more. Just gotta take it day by day!
BINABINA25 50 Posted January 26, 2018 I truly appreciate the support. It is very challenging because I'm used to eating poorly and it seems I'm always feeling hungry ...the Protein Shakes arent doing the complete trick...but I'm praying my way through. I will be all the more happier going to pureed or soft foods...it's more options. But again thank you
FluffyChix 17,418 Posted January 26, 2018 Cheetos and cheese balls/cheezeits and gold fish are my nemesis. I would eat them preferentially over anything in my house and in fact, they do comprise a 5th food group. I'd have to dump em and pee on em to keep me out of them. I'm sure the dish soap wouldn't be a strong enough deterrent! LOL! You can DO this! Concentrate on getting that Water in and your Protein in!!
