Can anyone else feel their Ports?

Recommended Posts

Hey I was banded 10-10-07 in Noblesville Indiana.

I had a rough day today, I felt as though I had no band at all, I ate so much. I feel so guilty. I was up to 316, I can't wait to be where you are. Any advice????

Beverly

You can see mine now if you're looking for it. If you didnt know to look for it, you probably wouldnt notice, but I'd rather have a slight lump than the fat gut I used to have.

Hello everyone ,

I was banded on the 14th of this month and have finally been feeling less sore and have all my stitches removed but just last night i found a bulge between my boobs where i had stitches removed from :faint:,i really hope it's my port i'm feeling and seeing as it was not there before ,it felt like a little spot under the skin until last night but now i can really see it sticking out ,it's not there when i lie down but it is standing up ,feel a little panicked by it as i was not told where my port is meant to me as i just thought it was under my left boob as that seem's to be the biggest scar ,i'm in Ireland and it's a holiday here at the moment so i've nobody to ring to find out about it ,,also feel now that when i swallow i can feel it but i think that may be in my head ,,lol,,panic ,,has anyone had the same??

Hi BettyBoop,

I was also banded in Ireland and if you go to the thread "Hi from Ireland" you will meet a load of us Irish girls who were banded in Ireland including some who were done this month. I was banded by dr jerome and he usually puts the port under the left rib cage. Also just because its a holiday weekend there is usually someone in Owenstown House that you can ring if you need to speak to someone. Hope to hear more from you. Good luck, and pop in to our thread.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
