Are you going in for a one week checkup? Have the doc take a look.

The incisions will take awhile to heal. They can take a year before they entirely disappear. According to the internet:

Wound healing also elicits mechanical stress that activates itching. ... This process creates a mechanical stress that activates the itch nerves and tells the spinal cord to scratch. These nerve fibers can also be activated by chemicals secreted by the body, which is how wound healing causes itching.

So itching is a natural sign that things are going in the right direction. Although your stomach looks bad, that is the way it looks after surgery.

If it were me, I'd err on the side of caution and have the doc or nurse take a look sooner. If nothing else, will put your mind at ease. You could also email that photo to their office and ask if you need to be seen....that might be a good compromise.

They look pretty inflamed around the incisions. Almost like a reaction to the glue. I’d go in sooner if it’s possible for you to call the office and see the surgeon sooner. Mine never looked that inflamed.

Yowch, looks like you have a bad rash,or skin infection. Yeah you could have a little redness but that's excessive, did you have glue? Maybe you're having a reaction to that. I would have expected some minor bruising but not this, you look like you're ready to pop them open. My grandma wisdom. Is you need Neosporin or Benadryl, does it itch? I think you should let your surgeon's office know, maybe text them this picture. Of course I'm not a nurse etc but that's what I'd tell my own daughter.

I agree with@Creekimp13: have the incisions checked.

Have that checked out. In the meantime try some Benadryl to see if it provides relief — whether or not it helps can be useful information for your doc.

Mine had the same time of glue that you have and mine didnt look like that.

My redness went down almost instantly. Yours look like an allergic reaction to the glue. I would get them checked out.

That doesn’t look right. What surgery did you have? You have more incisions than I do. But you look like you may have a skin infection or something. Definitely call your doc. Something as simple as Benadryl could help.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
