Seahawks Fan 771 Posted January 23, 2018 My surgery was on January 18th. With the exception of the full liquid diet & soon to be puréed I feel as though everything is normal. I can chug Water already & so far no food has disagreed with me. I’m starting to wonder if they even sleeved me at all. Feeling great & hoping things only improve! 6 Bigman12345, etc. etc. etc., marie88 and 3 others reacted to this

Creekimp13 5,840 Posted January 23, 2018 Be careful about chugging too much! It is absolutely awesome that you're getting your fluids in effortlessly...but keep in mind that your incision is still only a few days old and you need to baby it for a while...because you do NOT want a leak. They're awful. And yep, you can still get them in the first 30 days after surgery...so be gentle and don't overfill! My doctor stressed not to put more than 4 ounces of Fluid in your new tummy per hour for the first week. Preferably one ounce per 15 minutes. I could do much more than this as time went on...but I did my best to limit it to his recommendation for the sake of letting my incision in my stomach heal. Better to be safe than sorry. Discretion is the better part of valor, here:) It sounds like you're going to have an easy time of it...like I did...and I know I'm truly grateful for my good luck. Glad you're feeling so well:) Do hold your horses a little, though! Let that tummy heal:) 5 ProudGrammy, KatFight, Rainbow_Warrior and 2 others reacted to this

I was 1/18 too and I’ve already been to the ER because I was dehydrated and passed out. Are you doing plain Water or adding a flavor?

I will take your advice & sip but I spoke to the triage nurse yesterday & informed her as to how much fluids I can ingest & she told me I was lucky & that I couldn’t harm myself with Water intake but to be sure I have only 2 ounces of liquids per meal. Also no water half an hour before & until half an hour after each full liquid meal. I do feel fortunate & the last thing I want to do is compromise a good thing. 2 Toomanytacos and ProudGrammy reacted to this
KatFight 207 Posted January 23, 2018 Great news. I think your lucky streak will continue and you'll feel healthy as the weeks go by. Does your post-surgery experience make you question why you didn't do this sooner? I've wondered that about about myself. 2 Seahawks Fan and Toomanytacos reacted to this
Seahawks Fan 771 Posted January 23, 2018 I was scheduled for May 30 and I backed out at the last minute. I so wish I could go back and have done it then. But 6 or 7 months later it’ll still yield the same results down the road. 2 Toomanytacos and lovemy2girls reacted to this
