Photograph Your Food - Journaling

Recommended Posts

I get a newsletter from MFP and one of the articles discusses scientifically backed weight loss principles/behaviors. I was surprised to learn that #54, photographing your plate, was one of the suggestions. Then keep pictures organized by date. That way as you go back and look at your MFP logs, you can go pull a pic and associate the plate with your log. I thought that sounded kinda cool, since most of us have phones with cameras and most have some kind of computer. :D

54. PHOTOGRAPH YOUR FOOD

You can write down what you ate, but when looking back a week later, it may be tough to visualize exactly what a meal looked like. A quicker, and perhaps more telling, alternative is to take photos of each meal. A small study showed that photographic food diaries could alter attitudes and behaviors associated with food choices more than written diaries. Grab a camera and get snapping.

If taking a photo of food helps you..Ya go for it.

My food gets repetitive and boring. It's been helpful and fun to see our Bariatric pal shared food photos. Helps me get out of cooking ruts.

For me to photo journal on top of my log...Whew..that would be alot of food photos over the last three years..lol

My nutritionist was really intrigued when I brought her pix of my meals. She really seemed to enjoy having a new tool to evaluate what I was doing. Anytime I go in now she asks if I have photos:)

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
