TonyaNiichole 3 Posted January 22, 2018 I had my surgery on August 15 2017. I was 251. Day of surgery 236. After surgery I gained weight, I went back up to 245. But I wasn’t worried because after surgery most people retain Fluid. It’s traumatic for the body and the body doesn’t want to be rid of fluids in case the fluids are needed. I’m a nurse and I see this a lot in almost all post surgical patients. You will start to lose when your body comes out of the initial shock. It’s been 6 months and I’m 189.0lbs as of this morning.
