VSGnewguy 164 Posted January 21, 2018 Are you going to be self-pay or use insurance? If you are using insurance, it will likely take a number of months but you should definitely contact your provider to find out the specifics.

VSGnewguy 164 Posted January 21, 2018 I'm going through my health insurance I did do some research and they require quite a few thingsSome require a 6 month supervised diet. If your does not require that, then that will be a time saver. 1 Marieanna reacted to this

KatFight 207 Posted January 21, 2018 Hi Marieanna. First appointment on Friday - how exciting! For me, my insurance required 3 months of nutrition classes if I went to a specific hospital and 6 months of nutrition classes if I went to a different specific hospital. I did not know this information before selecting the hospital I chose. I chose the hospital I preferred and then found out I was required hto have only 3 months (all 6 mos of sessions were squeezed in to 3 mos) before surgery. There was a mistake by one of the offices that put me behind in getting all of my clearances done within that 3 months. Everything was done except my pulmonary clearance which can take longer if it's determined you have sleep apnea. My approval came just over 2 weeks after being submitted. Then I saw my surgeon and started the pre-op diet on 12/14/17, 2 weeks before my surgery. So, I had surgery a little over 5 months from my first appointment with the surgeon. I hope your appointment on Friday goes well. 1 Marieanna reacted to this

Seahawks Fan 771 Posted January 21, 2018 I don’t know of them. I’m on disability & my requirements were nearly none. My surgery was also covered 100%. I’ve read on here that some companies are pathetic.
kakatlady612 1,053 Posted January 21, 2018 Always neat to meet a new friend, FYI Seahawk Fan just had his surgery recently, I'm pre surg myself but ask any of us anything, so many veterans have helped me already and I want to pay forward if I can also. Did oodles of research before I settled on my future surgery, I'm old enough to be your granny or even great-granny so I have a lot of life wisdom. As for WLS surgery I'm totally in IT to win IT.Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app 2 Marieanna and Seahawks Fan reacted to this
