Polly Pocket 83 Posted January 19, 2018 I am 11 days post-op. I believe that all of the gas from surgery is now gone. I still seem to burp a lot. And it's loud. Is this normal? Do i have to learn to live with this?

LELH 72 Posted January 20, 2018 My BFF is 8 months out and when I asked her about the burping she said "yes! Welcome to your new normal!" I'm only 4 days out so burping is my greatest joy right now. My guess is that there isn't room in the sleeve for food and air, thus the burps! 2 Seahawks Fan and ZaylaEmora24 reacted to this
Angie's_Ocean 213 Posted January 20, 2018 I’m almost 3 months out. When I eat anything past 2-3 oz. I start belching like a trucker! [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23] my husband thinks it’s hilarious but I’m just worried we’ll go out for dinner or have company and I won’t be able to control it! 3 Apple203, Biddy zz 🏳️🌈 and etc. etc. etc. reacted to this
DaleAnn 16 Posted January 20, 2018 Be glad you burp. It helps the food move down your stomach. Sent from my SM-N950U using BariatricPal mobile app

Linear❤️ 3 Posted January 20, 2018 I envy your belching lol! I’m still on baby burps ... 4 days post op
Bansheeflyer 10 Posted January 20, 2018 I've been belching, but not any more than before my surgery. I burp more out of the backside, but knew I would as that is a side effect of the duodenal switch.
Molly23 275 Posted January 21, 2018 I belch like a trucker but I did before surgery so maybe I'm not the best example lol. I do notice that it's harder to do quietly or hide. It's much more painful to hold it in. I'm 9 months post op and I need to take 3-4 gas-x most days because the gas on the other end is uncontrollable when I have it. That might be my only negative thing since surgery.
