Elizabeth1121 1 Posted January 19, 2018 Hello all! I'm having surgery on Wednesday, January 24. I am nervous as hell! All the bad thoughts I could have are running through my mind this week. I guess it's better to have these thoughts now, and not on the day of lol. I am having the Roux en Y, and I am most worried about the pain. How was everyone's experience with the RnY? 1 nowinoz reacted to this
kakatlady612 1,053 Posted January 19, 2018 You will be fine, all the post Rnyers have told me it wasn't as bad as the dreading they did before. I'm still pre surg myself but that's what I'll be having probably within the next 6 weeks. Just finished my pre requirement yesterday, let my Bariatric Facilitator know, isn't that a fancy term? and she told me to expect a call-back from the surgeon's office to let me know scheduling for pre op blood work etc. I live nearly 50 miles away from the hospital so will have to do everything in 1 day. My local hospital just recently started doing limited Bariatric but they don't do anyone with a BMI over 40 or RnY so I have to go to Columbus, our state capital. Don't be scared, it's the Gold Standard of Bariatric surgery, performed often and a lot safer than many other major surgeries.Sent from my VS880PP using BariatricPal mobile app
