EndlessGoals#2018 46 Posted January 18, 2018 Hi everyone. I’m now 3 days post-op and on full liquid. Been doing ok with trying to drink Water but it seems that the popsicles are the only thing that doesn’t hurt me or I get the gas pain when I eat them. Have already had 3 today and it’s only 4pm.Freaking out a little bc I’m sure it’s not healthy to just have water and popsicles and also slightly scare that I’ve had so many. Anyone else have this issue?? They are yummy [emoji39]
OscarsMom 9 Posted January 18, 2018 Quote The first 4-5 days are definitely hard, and pretty much everything that hit my stomach caused pain. It gets better but most important that you have to stay hydrated. If you can push through to get some Protein Drinks it, it will help with your energy and then try and walk as much as much as you can. It's all going to hurt, there's not much to avoid it but I just pushed through by drinking very slowly (and seriously, every drop that hit my stomach at first hurt). Walking saved me. Moved the gas out and kick started my weigh loss. Hope you feel better! You're going to be so happy you did this!!
Nessy76 134 Posted January 18, 2018 I had to experiment a little with temperatures in the beginning, I found that things at room temp or slightly warm felt better. Just try your best to stay hydrated at this point, something like Isopure Protein Drink may be easier than the shakes...almost tastes like a melted ice pop. Things will get easier, good luck! 1 lpjenkin reacted to this
FluffyChix 17,415 Posted January 18, 2018 Ok, so here's a solution...go get someone to buy popsicle molds. Then use Syntrax Nectar Protein drinks and also the Premier Protein clear drinks as liquid. Freeze them and eat them. That way you get your protein in, fluids in, and it doesn't hurt you since you do well with sucking on frozen Water. 2 mylighthouse and ProudGrammy reacted to this

FluffyChix 17,415 Posted January 19, 2018 (edited) @shsa_rod LOL. While I would LOVEEEEEE to take credit for that genius, I'm pretty sure I read about some vets doing that here. What I might try doing though, since I love complicating easy peasy...is to melt some unflavored Gelatin in a tiny bit of hot Water to dissolve it and to add it to the Protein drinks so they aren't as hard and icy and you get some good cystine and collagen in at the same time! Bansheeflyer 10 Posted January 19, 2018 At first I couldn't get enough popsicles. Even when I was in the hospital. Now it's more of a treat at 2 months post op. 1 FluffyChix reacted to this
