I have one egg with American cheese, and 1 piece of bacon every morning. I've worked myself up to a jumbo egg and 2 pieces of cheese, but I have done the same thing since I was allowed to have eggs during the food stages.

That is so awesome I had to put shades on to read it! You know from the glare.

I found my new Breakfast. It's Chobani plain Greek yogurt with three teaspoons of coconut-sweetened cacao nibs. It's like eating chocolate chip yogurt, and it's only 155 calories and 12 carbs (with 5 grams of that being fiber). It's been a nice change from shake, shake, shake every day.

Don't you just love cocoa nibs? We really like the Scharffenberger (sp?) brand. Will have to try that with the yogurt! Ha! In fact, running to try it now for a late lunch/snack!

**Back with a Report: Ok, I started with just the yogurt/cottage cheese mixture I use (to lower the carbs from straight yogurt and to increase the protein). And it was good, but I only have the unsweetened nibs. But then I added PB Slim powder and it overwhelmed the nibs...then I went nuts and added slivered almonds, frozen blueberries and Fiber one. YUM! Super delicious "granola" topping filled with good fiber and Proteins. GREAAAATTTTT crunch with the nibs!

Makes a little over a cup--like 1 1/8 cup (1-2 servings)

1/2c Greek yogurt, plain

85g 2% cottage cheese

1 floz Fairlife Fat Free milk

4g PB Slim powder

7g slivered almonds

5g Fiber One Bran Threads

7g Scharffenberger Cacao Nibs, unsweetened

Nutrition: 236 cals; 22g protein; 9g fat; 18g carbs; 6g fiber; 12g net carbs; 9g natural sugars

Ok, I know this sounds like a weird breakfast, but sometimes I like to have smoked oysters with a few crackers. 4 Club crackers have 9g carbs and 3.5g fat, negligible Protein. Smoked oysters, however, are high protein, low carb - 11g protein, 6g fat, 2g carbs. I do try to get as much of the oil off of them as possible. I am able to eat the entire can (4 oz), so I end up getting in 22g protein. Yes, I know the fat grams is a tad high, but my food choices the remainder of the day are low fat choices and my plan allows for 38 grams of carbs and 20 grams of fat per day.

Oooh smoked oysters sound so so good. Used to enjoy smoked gouda or Swiss cheese. The county 1 to the NE of me Holmes County Ohio has Heine's and many other cheese factories. Coincidentally it also has Ohio's largest Amish population. Has anyone outside Ohio tasted Trail Bolonga? The best comes from Trail, Ohio and its another of my guilty pleasures. If you haven't the best way I could descibe is a smoked summer sausage but that pales in comparison to the real thing. Come visit me and I'll take you, there. And once my friend Robert brought me some made from venison, I want to lick my fingers remembering it.

I LOVE oysters. I never even thought about how much protein is in them. May have to try and see how well the go down.

I have no problem with them. The consistency is just right since I’m only out 4 weeks from surgery.

Oatmeal...again...cause I can't get enough of it these days. Weird, weird, weird.

sugar free maple flavor packet with splenda, and a half a tablespoon of pecans.

Couple hours later I had second breakfast like a hobbit...and had half a cup of chia pudding with blueberries.

Day 1 of pre-op liquid diet (3 weeks) and I'm having a hard time already. I feel hungry and just want to eat. I got the protein and supplements recommend by my program and having a hard time getting 1 down. My doctor / nutritionist has me on the following:
1 protein shake (bariatric advantage chocolate) with 8 oz of fat free milk 1 snack = 1 unjury protein shake (root beer) 1 protein shake (bariatric advantage orange cream) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein bar 1 protein shake (bariatric advantace orange cream or chocolate) 1 snack = 1 unjury protein soup (chicken) 3 servings of sugar free jello and popsicles throughout the day. 64 oz of water (I have flavor packets). Hot tea and coffee with splenda has been approved as well. Does anyone recommend anything for the next 3 weeks?

All I can tell you is that for me, it got easier after the first week. The hunger pains got less intense and I kind of got used to it and gave up torturing myself by thinking about food. But if you can, get anything tempting out of the house and avoid being around people who are eating. I sent my kids to my parents' house for two weeks so I wouldn't have to prepare meals I couldn't eat. After surgery, the hunger was totally gone.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.
